..mile stone for us

We’ve had every kind of weather this week. Hail, rain and sun and it’s been one of those weeks when you feel like you’re taking 1 step forwards and 2 steps back.

Completing the road into the farm is a mile stone for us. We came here in 2007 and put our first road in 18 months later, topping it up and filling in pot holes every year after that so we decided a concrete road was the way to go with the new entrance. We’re so happy with it and now we need to fence it and, hopefully, plant the edges up with daffodils this autumn.

It’s been full steam ahead in the potting shed, sowing seeds to bring on plants to plant out once the weather improves but they have all been eaten by mice. Totally destroyed. It’s so upsetting. There’s an awful lot of work gone into the early sowing by Joe and all those hours are wasted. It’s a set back but we’ll bonce back and start the sowing over again. With the weather still cold and set to be so for the next few weeks it’s still warming comfort food in this house.
