Another busy week on the farm. The whole team has been at home and helping to prepare for our reopening of the shop on the 1st of December. We’re like elves running around making measuring sticks for cut trees and doing general maintenance and tidying. Rush, rush, rush.
The garden team are still busy little bee despite the weather and the harvesting and winter preparations are constant at this time of year.
There was even mention of pigs in blankets sandwiches one lunch time, that’s just how excited we are all getting. Everything is food and Christmas!
Menu ideas Fajitas The rump steak in this weeks box is crying out to be my Northumbrian take on fajitas I serve mine in fluffy, floury flat bread. Make a carrot salsa with onion and chilli and green salad to serve. Stir fry the rump slice in strips with onion, pepper smoked paprika, ground cumin and garlic. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes if you want it to go even further. Beef olives Either in a Mediterranean, tomatoey sauce or in an onion gravy. Slow cooked until tender and soft. Serve with bakes potatoes, rice, pasta or couscous Green soup Sound awful but is delicious. Potatoes, garlic, greens and good stock Curried parsnip soup, with good bread or croutons Fluffy soufflé omelette for Sunday brunchBeth
