“And as if by magic Mother Nature flicks a switch and the countryside it dressed in colours of gold”

“And as if by magic Mother Nature flicks a switch and the countryside it dressed in colours of gold”It’s beautiful here on the farm and driving around on deliveries and errands. The leaves are turning from the deep green to autumnal colours of oranges, browns and golds. The sky has change colour and the light is different. I’m looking forward to autumn in all its glory. We have the most beautiful vegetables in the ground and are still planting out winter salads to pick in the coming months, but the kales, cabbages and roots are really amazing. We are eating some sort of green with every evening meal. Not just because they taste so good but because they are so packed full of vitamins and goodness. It’s such a great time on the farm when time slows down and the race of summer is over and the harvesting is really coming into its own. We’ll still have a bit of salad like tomatoes for a little bit longer but this is the time for the greens and root to take over and dominate our harvesting.

I love it. One pot meals that are so satisfying and tasty. Bursting with goodness and vitality. And some evenings it’s still possible to eat outside and enjoyed sunset.Menu ideas for this weekBeef olives in a tomato and herb sauce, serve with rice, pasta or crusty breadStir fry with beef strips, lots of ribbons of carrot, courgette and beans.
