The crops burst forward with growth but so have the weeds….!!

As I think everyone has we have had some much needed rain. Water butts are full and the ground is moist again. You can really see the crops burst forward with growth and flowers, but so have the weeds.
So if you fancy a little bit of volunteering even just an odd session helping with the mounting weeding and hoeing we welcome volunteers on a Monday.  You don’t need to give us a full day just a few hours would be a great help. Get in touch if you would like to pop along and help out….
Menu ideas for the week
Pork curry. Serve this with flatbreads or rice. The diced pork is perfect for a quick cook curry. Use a jar of curry sauce if you are in a rush or you don’t feel confident making one from scratch but if you do fancy having a go from scratch here’s a link to a BBC recipe that says chicken thighs but I always use diced pork or diced beef steak and when it says passata I use a tin of chopped tomatoes.
Poached eggs with steamed chard or spinach. Great for supper or a quick lunchLamb chopped on the BBQ or grilled and served with cucumber, mint yogurt and a crunchy saladTomato and anchovy tart.French onion soup with cheesy croutonsEnjoy your weekend. I’m in the shop however I’m hoping the evenings will be dry so I can catch up on weeding the flower borders and cutting the lawns. How are you going to spend yours?
