Full steam ahead….and what do you think to a Customer Open Day?

The weather has turned and we have blue skies and warmer temperatures and it’s full steam ahead.

We’ve started on the concrete for the new road so the first section is complete and only 3 more sections to go to get us out to our new road end. Everyone is very excited because it’s finally starting to take shape.

Every member of the team is doing their fair share of manual labour from laying concrete, planting out and building and repairing poly tunnels.

We’ve been starting to think about a customer open day. What do you think? After all that people have been through these last few years, we’d like to get together once our road is completed to celebrate. We’d love to know if it’s something you’d like….?

Menu ideas for this week

Beef sausage toad in the hole. Make some little sage and onion stuffing balls and put them in with the sausages before you pour in the batter and put a teaspoon of mustard or horseradish in the batter mix. Delicious! Serve with onion gravy and greens

Minute steaks and potato wedges alongside carrot and onion slaw or baby leaf greens. We are so close to the end of our main crop stored potatoes so enjoy some wedges, chips or mash.

Beef Stroganoff with fluffy rice or a creamy mushroom risotto.

Shakshuka. Simple baked eggs, using a tin of tomatoes and some chilli flakes and smothered with fresh herbs and serve with salad or crusty bread and butter.

Banana fritters because we love them too much. Great with yogurt and cinnamon or chocolate spread!

Kiwi sorbet. A very fancy way of saying whizzed up frozen kiwis. Use very ripe fruit. The riper the sweeter! Peel then slice the fruit. Put the slices in the freezer until just frozen. It should take under and hour. If they are too frozen they don’t blend very well so if you do leave them too long just get them out and allow them to start to defrost. Blend the frozen fruit until smooth and “creamy”. Serve.

We hope you get some time to enjoy the outside and possibly eat some of your meals out there. Please send us some pictures of what you’re cooking up for yourself, friends and family. There is nothing better than a homemade meal.

Enjoy your week…
