There’s a nip in the air and we’ve had a slight frost this week but we are still full steam ahead harvesting.
Joes been digging potatoes in the cold wind and picking beans in the warm tunnels, getting all the seasons in one busy day. It’s the typical harvest season, lots of produce to store for the winter months or eat straightaway. We’ve put chillis, garlic and tomatillos in the boxes this week. I’m making a big salsa with mine and some tex mex type of spicy mince. Wrap the spicy mince and fresh salsa in a fluffy flatbread. I’m really hoping that it stays dry and we can eat ours outside with the fire on. Menu ideas for this week Spicy chilli beef mince in flatbreads with fresh salsa Rare roast beef with roast potatoes and cabbage Carrot and onion soup Cold rare roast beef rolls Warm quiche with bean salad Apple pudding with custard or ice cream
