Being organic, all of our hens are of course free range and spend their days foraging around the farm.

Our main egg-laying breeds are Light Sussex and Cream Legbars. The Light Sussex are good egg layers and are the mainstay of our egg layers, and although the Cream Legbars are less productive they do produce beautiful light blue eggs. We also have a small number of Columbines, which are a breed that is derived from the Cream Legbar, and produce olive green eggs. This means the eggs in our weekly boxes are often quite multi-coloured, especially if there’s a pure white duck egg or two in there as well.
