Price rise – Important please read

Unfortunately, it has come to a point now that we can no longer continue absorbing the extra costs of producing and delivering our organic boxes. We had hoped that we could trade for a little while without any price hike and things would ‘settle down’ and get back to normal. However, normal now looks like £2 per litre fuel costs, electricity bills going from hundreds to thousands of pounds and all the other costs that our business incurs going through the roof too.

This won’t be news to most of you, we’re constantly hearing about the cost of living crisis and we really appreciate there is no good time to ask for more money for the same produce but sustainability is the bedrock of our organic farm and at the moment the current box prices are unsustainable if we are to continue producing and delivering organic food in a manner that employs local people on a permanent basis without causing detrimental effects to our environment.

The rise is small, around 5% and for the first time in around 7 years so effectively the price of the box is actually going down compared with inflation but that says more about current inflation rates!

We hope you understand and will continue to support us and the work we do here, the prices will change over in the first week of August so any boxes delivered after 1st August will be charged at the new rate of £25 for the fruit and veg box, £45 for the grocery box and £59.50 for the meat boxes. Subscribers who pay by paypal will go onto the new rates at the appropriate time, invoiced and standing order customers will be contacted by Lara in the next week or two and switched over onto the new prices when needed.
